39" Umbrella

A 39"  satin umbrella with a black backing was used for this image. It  produces a nice compromise between the very gradual shadow transitions of the larger modifiers and sharp transitions of parabolic and smaller sources.   As with most umbrellas, a large amount of light is scattered about.    Umbrellas of this size work well with on-camera strobes (used off camera).
